Taylor Beidler and Magda Bird met while completing their MA’s in Scriptwriting at the University of East Anglia. They quickly found common ground experimenting with form while utilising their storytelling skillset to address climate change. They first collaborated on an interactive performance piece, which was subsequently shortlisted for the “I’ll Show You Mine” Prize.
Their first environmental partnership was through the XRT Festival, a three-tiered art festival in Norwich raising money for Extinction Rebellion. Magda co-produced the festival, and Taylor ran a workshop exploring writing and movement, inspired by her eco-theatre workshop for the UEA Green Film Festival.
Taylor and Magda also worked together as editors on the UEA MA Anthology, as well as playwrights-in-residence for the FLY Festival, developing short plays with KS3 students across Norfolk.
Their co-writing credits for television include providing material for an AMC series, as well as an original series, ‘Gradient,’ for Silverprint Pictures. This series went on to be commissioned for an original drama pilot by ITV2.
Since then, Taylor and Magda have been developing ‘Gradient’ together, whilst also working with other organisations to cultivate solutions-based narratives. They want to create hopeful, climate change stories with you, for you and about you.
